Eleanore McHale Montesano of Mamaroneck lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease on August 2, 2017. She was surrounded with love, peace and sunshine. Born and raised in Bronx, NY to Irish immigrants, she was the fourth of five children. Moving to Westchester with her family, she continued to spend summers at Rockaway Beach, Queens with her family. She was a long time employee of the Mamaroneck Union Free School District
She is survived by her husband, Vincent, who together celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past April, her children Vincent (Jen) of Chicago, Maureen (Mike) of Ballston Lake, NY and Richard (Jenn) of Darien, CT. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren (Jack, Maura, Sean, Kate, Devin, Emily and Taylor) who were her greatest treasures and joy in life. She is also survived by her sister Josephine, brother Richard and several nieces and nephews for who she cared for deeply. She was pre deceased by her parents Richard and Catherine McHale, siblings Catherine Tully and Patricia Boras.
A celebratory mass of Eleanore’s life will be held at St. Vito’s Church in Mamaroneck NY on August 25th at 10:00 AM.
Her family would like to thank the staff at The Glendale Home in Glenville, NY who demonstrated compassion, caring and dignity to Eleanore through her journey. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of one’s choice in the name of Eleanore.
