Brian Charles Dwyer of Congers, NY passed away on February 23, 2021. Born in New York City, he was the son of Matthew R. Dwyer and Ruth McHugh Dwyer. He attended St. Helena’s High School in the Bronx, NY Class of ’64, Pace University graduating with his BA degree and John Jay College earning his master’s in Criminal Justice. He honorably served his country in the US Navy active duty and reserves for over 20 years. He was employed as a uniform court officer for eight years before being promoted to Associate Court Clerk for a career spanning over 30 years of service in the NYS Courts, Bronx Supreme Court, Criminal Division. Brian was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rockland County Shields. He was an avid reader, enjoyed swimming, playing card games, and taking walks around the lake. One of his favorite activities was attending Yankee games with his two daughters. He loved going out to dinner and vacationing with his wife, Mary. Brian’s eyes would light up every time he would see his two grandchildren. He adored reading and playing games with them. Brian was a devout Catholic and member of St. Paul’s Church in Congers for over 43 years. He married the former Mary Terhune on August 20, 1977. Together they raised their two children. Brian is survived by his wife Mary E. Dwyer of Congers, NY, two children Kelly Dwyer Kalb and husband Gerard Kalb of Hampton Bays, NY and Kristy Archer and husband Mitchell Archer of Northvale, NJ, and two grandchildren Ryan and Hailey Archer. He is also survived by two brothers: Matthew R. Dwyer Jr. and wife Barbara Dwyer of Riverhead, NY and Rev. Msgr. Donald M. Dwyer of Rye, NY. He was predeceased by his sister Ruthann Dwyer. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 2, at the Church of the Resurrection, a burial with honors followed at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
