Mary Rose Groglio sadly passed away March 19, 2016, at the age of 88.
She was born in Port Chester, NY, May 20, 1927, one of 14 children, to Andrea and Concetta (Galante) Cicoria.
She lived in Port Chester until she married Nicholas Groglio of Rye, NY in 1947. They lived in Rye for the next 41 years where they raised their family until they moved to Carmel, NY where they resided for 27 years.
Mary was employed by the City of Rye School District from 1961 – 1981. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, spending time and having fun with her family, especially her grandchildren, and many friends. She was also an active member of the Southeast Seniors for many years.
Her loving, caring, nurturing nature; devotion to family and her thoughtfulness, kindness and selfless acts will be remembered forever.
She was predeceased by Nicholas, her loving husband of 67 years, in 2015 and by 8 Brothers and 4 Sisters: Artillio Cicoria, Louis Cicoria, Anthony Cicoria, Louis Cicoria 2nd, Nicholas Cicoria, Dominick Cicoria, Albert Cicoria, Andrew Cicoria, Natalie Labbadia, Lucy Conte, Carmella Buttiglione, and Nanette Rossetti.
She leaves behind her sister, Rose Fanelli of Rye Brook, NY, 3 children; Marianne Giordano, (Joseph) of Patterson, NY; Nicholas Groglio, (Tracey) of Rye, NY, and Michelle Quinn, (Terry) of Fairfield, CT, 11 grandchildren; Joseph D., John and Robert, (wife Debbie) Giordano; Dana, Christine, Nicholas III, Jennifer and Juliann Groglio; and Ryan, Kaitlin and Connor Quinn; and 1 great grandchild, Jackson Gironda.
A memorial mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye NY on April 2nd, 2016 at 11am.
