
Obituary of Michael David Groglio
Michael D. Groglio of Rye, NY passed away on November 20, 2022 at the age of 62. Born in Greenwich, CT on September 30, 1960, he was the son of Joseph Groglio Sr. and Jeannette Rutland Groglio.
Mike, nicknamed "The Babe“at an early age, for his Ruthian baseball homeruns and large frame, was born, raised and lived his entire life in Rye. He was an outstanding athlete, playing football, baseball, wrestling and track at Rye High School.
Later, he excelled in the Rye area softball league with his family. Mike was also known to throw many large parties for July 4th holidays and hosted the Groglio tailgate at the Rye Harrison football game for many years, feeding the masses. He was an avid Mets, Jets and Villanova basketball fan. Among his greatest traits, he was known for generosity and willing to help, family, friends and even strangers at a moment’s notice from all walks of life. His ability to make people smile and laugh when he entered a room made him a larger-than-life character, with a big heart, that everyone knew.
Mike was the owner of Babe’s Home Improvement (BHI Consulting) for over 30 years, serving the Westchester/Fairfield communities. He was always willing to help folks out with his time and expertise.
Mike is survived by his mother Jeannette Groglio of Rye, his sister Paula Groglio of Rye, two brothers, Joseph W.(Valerie) Groglio Jr. of Singer Island Florida and Robert Groglio of Westport, CT. Mike is survived by his nieces and nephews: Joseph E. Groglio of Stamford, CT, Michele (Matt) Groglio Elipas of Glencoe, IL, Katie (Alex Joselow) Groglio of Salem ,MA, Peter (Tara) Groglio of Stamford, CT, three great nieces-nephews: Diana Alexander and Henry and dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11 AM, at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY.
