Marie, I was like a sister to my mother Shirley. Marie and John lived right next-door to us on Briggs Avenue in Yonkers. Then mom moved to the apartment complex that Marie was in and they lived in the same apartment complex for many years. They were inseparable. Going to New York City to the theater, restaurants, and then Marie moved to Florida and mom was a Snowbird and Lake Worth. They saw each other all the time. Spent time on the beach together, shopping in Delray together. Then Mom moved to Devonshire in Florida and Marie was at moms quite a bit for sleepovers. Of course, Marie was always welcome that our house for the holidays. It wasn’t even an invitation. It was just an assumption. if she didn’t go to New York, she’d be at my house. She never came empty-handed, she always brought her biscotti! Marie will be missed by all of us!

I have so many memories of my beautiful cousin, Mimi. (I am the only cousin who calls her Mimi.)
As a little girl, Mimi would come to my house in the Bronx and take me to the local pool because she knew how much I loved the water. Mimi loved the sun so much and was the happiest when she moved to sunny Florida.
She was my godmother when I received my Confirmation, and gave me a Bulova watch which I treasured. And I took the name of Marie for my Confirmation name.
My fondest memories of Mimi were our twice weekly phone calls where we would always talk about our favorite foods and our favorite recipes. We liked the same Italian foods, especially broccoli rabe. When I had spinal surgery, Mimi came to visit me and of course brought me broccoli rabe. She was just so kind and thoughtful to me always.
I was able to visit Mimi in Florida, and we had a ball together. Mimi loved my husband, and he loved her very much too. Her eyes would light up when she saw George. And my eyes would light up whenever I saw her. I adored my Mimi!
Marie Rapisardi was a beautiful and classy woman who was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be truly missed. I will keep Mimi in my heart always until we meet again.
